I've been tagged. But first, what I've been up to...
The buses weren't running today! NO SCHOOL! HOORAAAAAY! With any luck we'll be free to Winter Break... who am I kidding. I miss our classes! And I have a test! ;___;

Aparently the Edmonton International Airport was -59 C yesterday. (That's... -74.2 Farenheit... Is that even possible? O_o; I can see it being that cold though. No trees, pavement, a foot of snow, and miles of open land all around. XD

I've been hanging on the IAmMatthewian forums (See my last journal for details on the I Am Matthewian Project! You don't even have to be Canadian to contribute! Come onnnn! We need artists!) and chatting with people all over Northern North America -and down south... and the UK- about... well, Canada! (And America too XD) It's great. AND WE HAVE A FAN FROM JAPAN NOW OMG YES. *squeals* IT'S TRUE.

Oh yeah, and I finally got around to putting my SA2B CD back on my computer, the Flaming Lips too. X3 It's great to hear them again, you have no idea.

I've been really excited and in a good drawing mood lately. I'll probably be drawing a lot over winter break (drew my whole sequence for the IAM project yesterday and the day before) but first I have to finish a few more pictures for the Project and then do my English Project on Hamlet with my fellow voice actress and Shakespeare Enthusiast who really needs an icon. I will make her one of whatever she asks. Maybe I'll make her an Ophelia-skipping-through-flowers icon.

I have a few lines in the Christmas Episode (most of which I've recorded despite my LACK OF VOICE. Working on my laugh. XD) and I'll also be drawing one sequence of it (possibly more if I have time). It'll be uploaded somewhere after December 20th.

I've been lurking on the forums there lately. Teehee. I'm so surprised how many of you Matthewians are actually Americans! It brings warm fuzzies to my heart. XD I DUB THEE HONORARY MATTHEWIANS. *sniffs*

For those who are interested, the I Am Matthewian project ([link]) on youtube is a Canada-centric Hetalia community based around Hidekaz Himaruya's personification of Canada as well as fan-made personifications of the provinces and territories of Canada. (To Americans: Provinces = States only usually bigger. XD) It uses fan comics and historical facts to end Canada's invisibility! So even if you aren't a Hetalia fan, drop by in order to learn more about the country you live in/wish you were a part of/ is known as that Big Space Above the Greatest Country in the World.

Also, auditions to be provinces, territories, other countries, historical figures, etc. are still open. You can audition for understudies if your character has already been claimed. XD Also, the project desperately needs artists so come on down!

In other news Hapo has to do her IAM project as I said above, a project on Hamlet which will be similar but 100000x better than Roemo and Juliet, annnd... I have a test to rewrite... then a couple more tests... and winter break. I'd like to work on that to-do list down there and get Kattlanna her prize. XD

ALSO yesterday the boiler at my school broke. It's like losing the air conditioning in the States only more deadly. My social room door read "SOC 30-1s BRING YOUR COATS" in ominous writing. Thankfully my locker doesn't work so I carry everything around with me all day anyway. XD My teacher said the third floor was worse. My next class was on the third floor. It wasn't that bad because the door was closed. Of course the announcement came like "WE THINK WE FIXED IT THE HEAT SHOULD COME BACK SHORTLY."
I adjusted to the temperature. The bell rang. I walked into the hallway through a WALL OF COLD. Everywhere except the library, the gym, and most of the first floor was normal supposedly.
Anyway, after lunch was art class. I was JUST getting the paint on my pallette when... "HEY GUYS. UM, THE BOILER WON'T BE FIXED UNTIL THIS EVENING. HMM. GO HOME NOW."
I had to use 's cell phone to call my parents, then wait half an hour for them to get to the school (I live in the country. XD) It was cool actually. I got to go home.
Just to put it in perspective: I live in Alberta. There is roughly a foot (I think, I use metric. XD) of snow out there, it was -30 C (-22 F) that day (-45 C with windchill- so that's -49 F). It was cold. XD
WHY ARE THE BUSES STILL RUNNING?! WHY?!

Now we all love to laugh. We especially love to laugh at other people's pain. So, today let's laugh at your poor old friend Hapo's horrible pain.

So I'm on the phone with Oishio. We're discussing magical plot things and rewriting chapter two altogether because it sucks even though I worked so hard on that background but I digress.
Anyway, she gets interrupted and tells me she'll call right back. So I say okay. And I hang up.

Now I always like to answer the phone when it's for me with "I was going to think of something funny to say but I couldn't think of anything so... hi."
This time I thought I'd be clever.
The following is what occured after the phone rang.

"Hello,"
"Hi-"
"-and again, welcome to the Aperture Science Enrichment Centre. What is the nature of your call?"
I was so proud of myself for my intonation and soft voice when
"Um, I think I've got the wrong number... Sorry..."

This is why Hapo hates the phone with every fibre of her being. This is why Hapo doesn't answer phones.

At least I didn't just answer it and start rambling about something that we were talking about earlier. That could have been awkward.

It was really embarrassing when it happened but now it's hilarious.

So let's see- I have a Cold War Project to finish up (Thinking of sneaking in a Hetalia Reference on the first slide of our powerpoint... heheh. It's the title slide. It won't be up long enough for anyone to notice...) then I have a intro paragraph to write... an English Exam tomorrow... Kanji of the Day...

I drew Vicky, Julie, Nick and Simon today along with Zach in the margins of my bio notes. XD Zach fits in bio notes. Especially when it concerns the reproductive system because I can make him all awkward looking and stuff. Heh heh heh.

MAN I LOVE THE COLD WAR. It makes me giddy. After our projects are done we're gonna talk about ESPIONAGE and THE SPACE RACE. Or maybe that's tomorrow. EITHER WAY I'M SO GIDDY I MIGHT JUST EXPLODE.

ALSO I SAW PLANET 51 OVER THE WEEKEND. THAT DID NOTHING TO EASE MY GIDDYNESS. TEEHEEHEEHEE.

Yeah. I was wondering: would anyone be interested in a Hetalia style history lesson on either the Cold War or... god forbid... Canadian history? XDD I'm serious. I'd love to if it helps you or your curious, because... GTLISRHGDLIFTNG I'M EXCITED ABOUT HISTORY FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE GRADE FOUR IT'S GREAT. Social Class is like a giant sugar pill for me now. Also we had the best conversation about Twilight in English EVER. I wish I could have recorded it it was so awesome. My English teacher hasn't read the book or seen the movie but he already senses co-dependent spousal abuse. He also wonders if the children would have one incisor longer than the other. Teehee.
I feel like I should read the book just so I can back up my arguments against the damn thing.
Then again, my English teacher said at least it gets kids who otherwise wouldn't touch a book reading. :\

ANYWAY I HAVE HOMEWORK TO ATTEND TO. TELL ME WHAT I SHOULD DRAW AND ONCE AGAIN I'LL CONSIDER IT.

Oh yeah, and lately I've been listening to a lot of Disney Songs for no reason. It's strange. I never realized how much I loved Disney Movies until I decided to search 'Happy Russian Song' to see if it existed and found Russian dubs of disney songs and blah blah blah.

Okay, I don't have school tomorrow. My school's trying this new thing where people with over 80% in any classes can get permission to stay home or study independently, or to partake in any of the seminar sort of things- for example in Bio an embalmer is coming to talk about funerals, and in English/Social the'yve got an aboriginal hoop dancer. There's also "Colour Spectrum" underwhich it says "Explore your personality" or something like that. I'm staying home, but I kinda feel bad that I'm missing these things... Oh well. I need one more day off. XD And I think it's good too, for once the students with high marks can spend their time on other things, and those who need help have an entire day to catch up or ask questions in order to reach that 80% plus. I've always been an A student so... XD

We had another 'enrichment day' where there were a million classes to sign up for (Everything from Art History to Pumpkin Carving to watching Apocalypse Now which I've never seen but it's based on Heart of Darkness so I don't plan on seeing it. I'm an avid reader but Heart of Darkness was three chapters of root canal, spinal tap, and dysentary. That painful. XD) I took a mandatory class on Norway (which I totally enjoyed), Art History (I THINK I'VE FOUND MY NICHE), the 'Japanese English Connection' which wasn't as good but it was nice to review, and then a spare block to work on art projects. I was horribly cold (and later got sick) throughout the whole day and it was one of the best experiences of my educational lifetime. XD
We're one of the pilot schools testing this thing out so hopefully it'll spread out to other schools in the future. Eventually we hope to have an incredibly flexible highschool system (Of course, I'll be long gone by then... *sigh* but my sister will hopefully get some of those benefits.)

ANYWAY THE POINT IS I'M STAYING HOME TOMORROW and possibly going to my dad's office downtown, and I have some things to work on...

FIRST OF ALL I gotta get some sketchbook assignments done for art class. They aren't fun. ><

Then there's that to do list down there... I keep forgetting about it. XD

Then there's the matter of "WHAT SHOULD I DRAW?"
I've been drawing a TON of Hetalia lately. I haven't had the inspiration or motivation to draw my own characters recently because they remind me of Oishio who... *sigh* Well, she's way too obsessed with 'growing up' and being 'an adult' and 'self sufficient' and all I ever hear from her now is how different things are and all the problems and how she was just in the hospital and I had no effing idea.
God damnit.

I did draw Simon today. And Zach in the margins of my bio notes.
I can't help but drawing Simon really sad and serious, I keep getting this character development for him from English class especially- he's not turning into a sad character by any stretch, but he's starting to form words around his whole 'emo' thing and is starting to realize the real tragedies behind the whole fad, the same way I am. I can't really explain it right now. But I don't know how I'm going to get to that point in the story...
I don't feel like I can do chapter two yet... I'm sorry, I'm just not ready for it. I feel like the whole comic is still searching for a direction, themes, morals, whatever. I'm getting closer to that though...

Hmm. Anyway, I have been drawing a lot of Hetalia. If there's any other fan art you want to see from me, APH, DAH, Star Wars, whatever, let me know and I'll try and do some. XD I wanna know what you guys want to see because I'm selfish and need comments. If you want to see my OCs go ahead, but again I'm having some troubles with them. Then again knowing someone wants to see them would probably help. XD If you have any suggestions or ideas on how you want to see them, please let me know, I'd appreciate it.

Hmm... so far I've been very good at reaching my goals. I've done a new kanji (Along with an APH fan art) every day since September (Haven't memorized much) which you can see here , I got 40/40 on that research paper I was talking about last time (My teacher said she'd never given a 40/40 before on a research paper. XD I feel special. She's using it as an example. ) I've got 80s and 90s in all my classes (Remember, 80% is an A in Canada. XD) and my art teacher is actually very proud of the work I've been producing this year (Which I'll show you next time she takes pictures and we can update our portfolios)

I still need an idea for my next project, it's a black and white print and it needs to be all stylized and textured and I don't know what to do. XD It can't be a kanji because my friend is already doing one.

Speaking of art I'm signed up for a trip to Phoenix Arizona. We're visiting ghost towns and learning how to take pictures. It sounds exciting.

Anyway I've been feeling really good lately, despite the cold and the constant threat of swine flu. I'm really cold right now and I shouldn't be. I think I'm getting sick again. But other than that and being worried about Oishio, I feel really calm and enlightened and less chewed up with stress and worry. The good school year has a lot to do with that, and maybe even being apart from Oishio has something to do with that (But in all honesty I do love her to death and worry about her all the time- though it's hard to say it- and REALLY wish she'd give up on this 'independence' thing. Some socialist she is, honestly. XD She needs help and authority and I can't give that to her and I really wish she'd go back home... but she won't listen to me...)

*sigh* This is the only thing that's been causing lumps in my throat recently and I need to get it out.

Oh, did I tell you about my recent love affair with Knights of the Old Republic? I couldn't find Wind Waker and started playing it and it actually didn't crash when I got to the bridge of the Endar Spire. I just got to Tattooine and had my ship overun with gizkas. XD THEY'RE SO CUTE. Thanks for such a beautiful game, Bioware. I love how everyone has a name and a story, and the reflections and shadows and textures and how the backgrounds fade into the distance.... *sigh* Even non-Star Wars fans would probably get some sense of enjoyment out of the story and characters...

Anyway, I'm going to sleep. Those of you on the East Coast you'll be in great conditions for the Leonid meteor shower tonight (until Saturday) Try and catch it in the early morning between midnight and dawn.. I don't know if I can stay awake/wake up early enough for it. XD I can't tell if the sky is clear from down here but I'll go upstairs and take a look. (You'll be at the best position if you're in Asia. Europe and Africa are out of luck unfortunately. D: )

I feel like I haven't posted much in a while so I'll just take this break from my research paper which is due in less than a week and I've just started on.......

I just thought I'd say that I feel this horrible sense of unity and magic about the universe recently and I'm not sure why. It has a lot to do with supreme idiocy, the Holocaust, Communism, and maybe a little fetal development.
I think most of us can agree that these are pretty horrible things.
Except for one.
That's right Communism.
YOU THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO BE ALL "YAY BABIES" BUT GUESS WHAT WE DON'T NEED ANY MORE NEW CHILDREN RIGHT NOW.
And Biology is repulsive when it comes to fetal development. XD Maternity books say "Oh your baby has fingernails by now isn't that great?" while biology texts say "The embryo is starting to resemble a human. It is rapidly growing organs and brain cells while floating in a protective sac filled with amniotic fluid connected by it's umbillical cord to a giant pancake-like placenta where nutrients from the mother's blood diffuse across to the infant blah blah blah yolk sac blah blah blah endometrium.

Hey girls. If you need a subtle excuse just say "I'm about to shed/shedding my endometrium and it's somewhat stressful." or something. Stupid endometrium.

Well I suppose quite simply it's something along the lines of
CHEER UP EMO KID. I KNOW YOU'RE SAD BECAUSE YOU CAN'T FEEL ANYTHING BUT PICK UP A BOOK ONCE IN A WHILE TO HUMBLE YOUR PATHETIC SELF. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GO TO DARFUR AND STARVE AND STATISTICS MEAN NOTHING TO YOU, YOU MIGHT AS WELL READ ABOUT IT IN A MEMOIR OR FICTION BASED ON TRUE EVENTS- YOU SHOULD LEARN TO EFFING ENJOY LIFE.

Parts of it have been like that which has led to these things like
OH MY GOD. WE'RE BREATHING OXYGEN AND ALL SORTS OF OTHER THINGS AND OUR CELLS KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH EVERY LITTLE MOLECULE. OUR BODIES HAVE PRIORITIES SO WE START LOOSING HAIR AND FINGERNAILS BEFORE WE START DIGESTING OURSELVES. WE CAN TALK WITH PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD INSTANTLY AND COMPARE SOCIETIES ALMOST FIRST HAND. WE CAN LISTEN TO THE SAME SONG IN TEN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES AND DESPITE THE DISCREPANCIES OF TRANSLATION WE STILL CAN GET THE SAME FEELINGS, EVEN WITHOUT WORDS. EVERY COLOUR IS JUST A FRAGMENT OF ORDINARY WHITE LIGHT. SOMETIMES NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW SOMEONE WHO IS DYSLEXIC CAN READ. CATS CAN STAND TO HANG AROUND YOU EVEN WHEN YOU'RE BAWLING YOUR FACE OFF. ....I think you get the point. These are just things that have been on my mind lately. XD I am so 'easily' amazed sometimes, especially about the fact that people aren't easily amazed by these things.

There are a lot of things I knew in my childhood because I was interested in things like that... I was a voracious reader of both fiction and non-fiction and lately I feel like I've been saying "I thought everyone knew that..."
It gets depressing sometimes because there's a lot I know and think is common knowledge but then it turns out that I don't actually know what IS common knowledge until I get all depressed thinking I've wasted time collecting 'useless' information which I know it ISN'T.

Anyway lately I've been feeling very happy and all life rocks and I like it despite the fact that the world sucks and I have a sore throat.

Now I know what being Simon feels like. I KNOW You can't get inside someone's head by observing them. You just can't. That's another thing. In Bio (1st block) I was listening to a song and thinking "Oh god soon I'm going to get bored of this song soon... why can't I just stick with something and not have to wait for nostalgia?"
It took me until last block in the middle of an english test to realize that you can't just be passive. I don't know why but that quote from V for Vendetta crossed my mind.

"I've listened to every one of these songs but I've never danced to any of them."

I sense srs ILE plot development. Which I can't do because I've got a research paper and a group project and a source based essay to do so bear with meeeeee.

ANYWAY SO my research paper.

I'm basically writing on capitalism versus socialism.
My entire class is pretty left wing it's great. We all live in the wrong province. Srsly we're all socialists or moderate lefts (about five communists) and only two or three people were moderate right. XD
SO I WANT YOU TO TELL ME WHICH IS BETTER AND WHY, CAPITALISM. SOCIALISM. you can talk about other things but those are the ones I'm concentrating on.

Apparently I'm a communist. Unfortnately I didn't hear that "if you're 7 and above you're a communist" until after I had joined the socialist group beh.
My socialist group was nice. Except for the fact that the one guy wanted to do everything himself and totally defeated the purpose...

OH AND I LOOKED UP 'HAPPY RUSSIAN SONG' ON GOOGLE TO SEE IF IT EXISTS and I stumbled upon disney songs in different languages and the one I happened to download happened to be SAD.
