UGH WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR ME TO FIND NICE IMAGES OF ANCIENT PERSIAN CLOTHING AGHHHH XDD
I took a lot of artistic liberty with their clothing and the patterns. However, I did base them off of both colour schemes of the Standard of Cyrus the Great (again) because I'm cool like that. It's nice to have full body shots of them done. Even if my style has become so abstract I can just scribble some lines and slap some colour on it could be anything. XD
SO FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE UNAWARE I have officially decided that Medes and Fem!Persia are the same person- playing on the idea that the Greeks can't tell them apart and referred to most people in the Persian Empire as 'Medes'. In early Persia clothing for men and women was very similar too- I've read, which made up for me not being able to find decent references for ancient Persian women other than the scantily clad stereotypical harem girls argghhh infinite facepalm.
Anyway, in that regard I've tweaked Macedon's design to look like Male!MamaGreece since the Persians called the Macedonians 'Greeks with sunhats' XDD I should probably post him.
On that note, I have also decided that Fem!Athens actually represents Attica (and they were married when Theseus supposedly untited Athens with several small villages in Attica.) Still, I'm having trouble figuring out what Fem!Sparta would represent... Mr. Helot already sort of represents Messenia, so... yeah. I dunno. Laconia maybe? Actually yeah, that would sort of make sense, I guess... Cool. I'm glad I figured that out just now.
RIGHT so introducing Medes, who teamed up with Persia to overthrow Neo-Babylon. I guess that makes them sort of married. XD She has a lot more freedom than any of the Greek city-states' female counterparts; actually, more freedom than most women in the ancient world- not only can she own property, control her wealth, and divorce at will, she can serve in the army as a warrior or an adviser (even in Persia though, female advisers were pretty rare. I only know one, Artemisia, who I learned about this morning. She was pretty badass!) For some reason I see her being bros with Fem!Sparta. And before you say but but but they're on opposite sides, wait until Sparta becomes a jerk to Greece and starts making secret deals with Persia on the side. XDD
I actually don't know that much about Medes individually, I should do more research. XD
Anyway, I had fun with this picture!! :3 Mesopotamian clothes look so comfy. |3 Well, the images of them I can find, anyway... *glares at screencaps of 300*
Oh, and I blatantly stole the poses from pose maniacs muhahahahaha.
I forgot to mention, this is young Persia. I'm still trying to figure out his age timeline, but I would assume this was just after 550 BC when he and Medes got married. IN SHORT He hasn't grown out his epic beard yet, and I'm not sure when that happens (maybe around the Hellenistic Age when Alexander the Great rolls around...)Edit: I've found some pictures of Median dress, so hopefully I can provide much more distinction for Medes in the future. :3 ...although, it's all male dress... hmm. XD;
