I'm very proud of Sparta's expression in the second-last panel. The only reason I was able to do it so well was because I was just absolutely petrified of attending a Classics Symposium this evening (I made it out alive and unscathed, you'll be glad to know) and I guess it just became a reflection of my feelings.
Originally I would not have made the 464 earthquake this big of a deal. I wasn't even going to put this much focus on it. Actually, I was going for a more comic approach... but...
I think it's good to show Sparta as vulnerable. :/ And at this point in time, he was. Extremely.
Jeez Mr. Helot get over here and get that damn column off his arm. What do you think we pay you for?
...You don't get paid? Ah... Well, we pay you with your life, I suppose.

Oh god I got suuuper worried about Sparta being okay on this page! I actually had to be like, "Okay, self, he's a city-state, not a person. He doesn't die in the earthquake because the plot is HISTORY." XD That expression is amazing, and I really like the way the sound effect is written, too. At least one good thing came out of your being ultra nervous?
