Quetzalcoatl: Mayan/Aztec God of the Sky, Creation, and Wind

100 Gods and Goddesses Challenge

This was a tricky one!

The thing I wanted to convey here was an interesting 'myth' about Quetzalcoatl in itself. There is a lot of discourse concerning Quetzalcoatl and the arrival of the Spanish: namely that Quetzalcoatl's human form was actually white and bearded... and that Hernan Cortes was mistaken for Quetzalcoatl when he and his Spanish conquistadors first landed in Aztec territory.
...Actually, no one's sure if this is what the Aztecs believed or if this is just what Cortez wrote back to the King to exaggerate how 'stupid' and 'primitive' the Aztecs were... and how awesome he was!

What do I think?
I think if Quetzalcoatl can manifest himself as a giant feathery snake, he can appear human in any shape or size or colour he wants. :P I was just playing with that idea in my drawing here, even though I tried to make his ethnicity a bit wishy-washy and ambiguous.... I don't know. XD

On a much more awesome note: Quetzalcoatl invented chocolate. Y/Y???
